Using CD38, CD138, CD19 and CD45 as the best combination of backbone markers for the identification of plasma cells. In addition, expression of CD19, CD56, CD117, CD28, CD27 and CD81, together with cytoplasmic light-chain, is associated with unique phenotypic patterns that allow clear discrimination between normal/reactive and clonal plasma cells. Besides, EuroFlow-based next generation flow (NGF) approach is highly sensitive and standardized detection of MRD in multiple myeloma.
